After breakfast, Immerse yourself in the authentic experience of rural Sri Lanka with a visit to Hiriwadunna village. This enchanting village walk offers a unique glimpse into the daily life of Sri Lankans living in serene, rural surroundings. As you stroll through the lush landscape, you'll witness traditional farming practices, including the cultivation of chena (slash-and-burn agriculture), where locals skillfully work the land to grow their crops.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Hiriwadunna is the distinctive tree houses that dot the landscape. Built high above the ground, these simple yet functional structures serve as safe havens for villagers to sleep in at night, protecting them from the occasional visits of wild elephants.

Your journey will culminate in a heartwarming experience as you share a traditional Sri Lankan lunch with a local family. Enjoy a meal crafted from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and savor the flavors of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in the comfort of a village home. This immersive experience provides not just a taste of local food, but also a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry of rural Sri Lanka.

Evening visit Sigiriya - a key cornerstone in the cultural triangle. Climb the amazing Sigiriya rock fortress - a World Heritage Site. This architectural masterpiece, built in the 5th century A.D. sits on the plateau of a giant monolith. Afterwards, travel to the World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa - the second capital of ancient Lanka from the 11th to 13th century A.D. Take a walking tour to the ruins of Lankathilaka, Thuparamaya, Royal Palace, Rankoth Vehera and Gal Viharaya. Return and relax at your hotel.
